Patients receiving care through the APA Dental Program “pay it forward” by completing volunteer service hours. The APA Dental Health Coordinator will provide a calculation based on your dental treatment plan. Please see below for the volunteer service tracking form and a list of some available volunteer organizations.
The APA Dental Program coordinates donated dental care for uninsured Alaskans with limited financial resources. Local dental practices donate their time and skills to patients with a current dental need who meet APA income and eligibility guidelines.
This is NOT insurance or a government entitlement program. This program does not typically cover crowns, bridges, dentures, partials, or implants. This program is for preventative, emergency, and basic dental needs, including pain and infection, and may cover the following:
● Exam and x-rays
● Restorative fillings
● Routine extraction
● Surgical extractions
● Dental hygiene and oral health education
NOTE: Initial exam and x-ray services received at ANHC or MSHS will require a fee of $125; APA pays $100 and the patient is responsible for $25 co-pay.
If you have a current dental need, please contact our office or fill out the self-referral form below. Our Dental Health Coordinator will contact you to complete a short, confidential screening.
